COVID UPDATE: 
- Ontario reported 1,388 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday. Of these, there were 520 new cases in Toronto and 395 in Peel Region. 

CAMPUS: 
- Western is accelerating its sustainability efforts with a renewed advisory committee that will guide the university’s environmental strategy across campus. The President’s Advisory Committee on the Environment and Sustainability (PACES) will include broad representation from faculty, staff, and students and is expected to begin its work in early 2021.

LOCAL AND NATIONAL
- Londoners should brace for tighter public health measures in the coming days — from restrictions on restaurants and alcohol sales to fitness facilities — as the region continues to break COVID-19 daily case count records. London recorded 11 new cases on Tuesday. 

- Widespread shutdowns are coming as Manitoba's premier and top doctor order the entire province into the red, or critical, level of the provincial pandemic response plan.

SPORTS: 
- Tony Waiters, who coached Canada in its only appearance at the World Cup and led the Vancouver Whitecaps to the North American Soccer League championship, passed away on Tuesday. He was 83.

WEATHER: 
- Expect the temperatures to be ranging between 13 and 22 degrees Celsius today. The day will mostly be sunny throughout.
