  • The University Students’ Council of Western University is hosting the State of the USC address in the University Community Centre Atrium tonight from 5:30pm-7:30pm
  • USC President Mitch Pratt will be delivering the keynote State of the USC address
  • The event will be interactive and accessible with a live-stream on the USC’s Facebook Page and an online question period (via Twitter) for those unable to attend in person
  • All students, faculty, and staff, broader community members, and the media are invited to attend

Local News:

  • An unexpected spate of hepatitis A cases in the Middlesex-London area is being described by local health officials as a clear demonstration of the health inequities that exist in London
  • The Middlesex-London Health Unit says it’s seen 15 non-travel-related cases since the start of last month, mostly from homeless and under-housed people and people who inject drugs


  • After earning a silver medal in the OUA Championships this past Sunday against the Ottawa Gee-Gees, the Western women's soccer team will be back in action this Thursday against the Cape Breton Capers in the first round of the National Championships in Ottawa, Ontario
  • On the other side of the field, Western will be looking to bounce back following a 1-0 loss to the Gee-Gees this past weekend in the OUA Finals. After being plagued with injuries all season long, the Mustangs finally saw a number of players return to the field in their playoff victory over Queen's on Friday evening, highlighted by the comeback of fifth-year striker Julia Crnjac
  • Western's opening game of the National Championships is set to begin on tomorrow at 10:00 A.M. EST
  • Jade Kovacevic was named CCAA women’s soccer player of the year for 2018 at the national championship banquet in Coquitlam, British Columbia. This was the first time in Fanshawe’s history that a Falcons player had received the honour
  • Kovacevic scored 30 goals this season in helping Fanshawe to an undefeated OCAA season and a provincial title
  • She sits second in all-time OCAA scoring with 79
  • Kovacevic has had quite a year. She helped FC London to an unbeaten season in League 1 Ontario play and has added coaching to her resume with FC London’s U-16 team and the London Mini-Stars house league program
  • The bronze- and gold-medal matches will take place on Saturday, Nov. 10
