Campus:
- The Canadian Space Agency announced Western Professor Sarah Gallagher as its first Science Advisor
- The announcement came from the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development
- The CSA’s mandate is to advance the knowledge of space through science, and ensure that space research benefits Canadians
- As CSA’s first science advisor, Gallagher will report directly to the CSA’s President, Sylvain Laporte, to shape Canada’s future direction in space science and champion Canadian space research

- Western Volunteer Fair is ongoing now. Students can volunteer to try their hands at radio production, performing CPR, or organize outreach events for established Canadian Organizations

Local:
- This weekend, London will host the 17th consecutive Doors Open Event
- Visitors will get a rare peak inside some of London's historical monuments and moments through guided tours, theatrical performances, family-friendly events

Sports:
-Today, Western to host the men's and women's invitational at St. Thomas Golf and Country club in Union, Ontario
-Also tonight the Western Mustangs men’s hockey team hits the ice for the first time this season
